How to buy a DJ Equipment: A Beginners Guide to buy DJ equipment and essential components

Although DJ-ing is not an inexpensive hobby, it can be an additional source of income, a way to entertain friends and family, or a source of stress relief, depending on the individual who is pursuing it.

A Right DJ Equipment is very essential whether if you want to perform at home or with your friends or in a huge crowd. In this guide we will be looking at DJ equipment packages. For DJ equipment, full and ready to use package DJ is very popular choice rather than buying each component separately. There are bunch of products out there in the market but what to buy and where to buy? That confuses the most. Fortunately for you, you don't need to do any research as I have done it already for you! :)

There are several options which you would consider for buying with your DJ equipment. We will go through each one of them.

Music Source:

Mainly we have 3 options here:
  1. Turntables (Traditional)
  2. CD Players (Need 2 mixable CD Players)
  3. Laptop (with DJ Software) รจ (Commonly Used)

My Recommendations:

Headphones:

Good DJ Headphones are needed for the DJ to listen to the 2nd song so that he can start the song at the right moment. This will become optional if you plan to rely on the sound waveforms provided by the DJ software.

DJ Mixer:

DJ Mixer will be helpful to the DJ to listen to the preview of the upcoming song in the headphones. The DJ Mixer will redirect the music from source (e.g. Laptop/Player) to the headphones.

Microphone:

This is totally a personal choice and preference. Depending on how much you want to speak during the party, you can buy the appropriate microphone.

Speakers:

You may want to consider buying some quality speakers.  Clubs and halls generally have speakers which you can use for your event but for private functions, you may need them. You may also consider having speaker stands and long cables to connect the speakers.

Amplifier:

This is another optionally needed component. If you don’t have real good speakers, you may want to invest in getting amplifier to boost the sound signals.
